WKK DAY CAMP'S
REPTILE EXPERIENCE
We had so much fun today with Steve's Reptile Experience. We knew it was going to be fun because we had a blast last summer when he came. It was fun to watch some of our teacher's reactions to the reptiles and spiders. The kids were really brave though and really enjoyed getting to hold and pet the different snakes, alligator, trantula, and scorpion.
This was the alligator Steve brought with him. She was really cool. She did tricks and was really nice for an alligator. Steve said that he had gotten here as a new baby and would keep her until she turned about five and then she would go live at a reptile farm where she could get really big.
It was really funny when he brought out the scorpion. Ms. Tessa didn't know it was on her back until she turned around and everyone gasps. She was terrified, but did really good remaining calm until he took the scorpion back.
This was the trantula that Steve brought with him. He warned us that we needed to be very careful when holding it because just a six inch drop would kill it. They are very fragile.
Steve brought a Python with him again. He said this snake weighed approximatley 18 pounds. We had some really brave kids. They enjoyed holding this snake.
This was an albino python. We couldn't hold this one because he had just eaten about 3 days ago and you cannot handle them until they have finished digesting their food. We did get to pet him. He was so pretty.
He brought out this lizard. It sat on top of her head while she stood there. It was a really neat reptile.

You are all MUCH braver than I am. Especially Ms. Tessa. I would have freaked out if there was a scorpian on me. It gave me the creeps just looking at it. I'm glad you guys had fun, but I am really glad I wasn't around.
